ETHICAL AI AWARDS

Evaluation Criteria

The Ethical AI Awards recognize organizations, associations, and NGOs that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to AI ethics through the ethical, transparent, and responsible use of artificial intelligence. The evaluation process is guided by the following criteria:


1. Ethical Leadership

The organization showcases a clear commitment to AI ethics in its strategy, governance, and operations. Policies and leadership practices reflect integrity, accountability, and respect for human values.


2. Responsible Implementation

AI is deployed responsibly, with safeguards to protect privacy, prevent bias, and ensure transparency in decision-making. The organization shows measurable progress in building trustworthy and sustainable AI systems, aligning with responsible AI practices.


3. Innovation and Impact

Projects or initiatives utilize AI to create meaningful, positive impacts—enhancing member value, social good, or public trust. Emphasis is placed on real-world results that advance ethical AI practices and contribute to the broader discourse on AI ethics.


4. Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

The organization actively collaborates with academic, nonprofit, or public partners to promote ethical AI education, research, or standards development. Knowledge and best practices are shared to strengthen collective progress in the realm of AI ethics.


5. Integrity and Intellectual Property Protection

The organization respects copyright, intellectual property, and data rights. All AI initiatives demonstrate compliance with legal and ethical data practices, upholding confidentiality and integrity.


6. Transparency and Communication

The organization clearly communicates its AI use, purpose, and outcomes to members, partners, and the public. Efforts are made to make AI systems understandable, accountable, and accessible, fostering trust among stakeholders.


Eligibility

Eligible organizations include registered associations, nonprofits, and NGOs that actively integrate AI technologies into their operations, communications, or mission-driven initiatives, including those related to AI whistleblower protections.


Recognition

Award recipients will be publicly recognized by the American Council for Ethical AI for their leadership and integrity in advancing ethical AI. This recognition includes:


- Official press releases distributed to national and industry media

- Feature placement on the Council’s official website

- Invitation to an Award Dinner Ceremony honoring recipients before distinguished guests and peers.
